New Hampshire is a state in the US New England which has large areas of forested lands, quaint towns and the White Mountain National Forest where winter sports are held. It is situated in the northeastern part of the US and is the 5thsmallest of the 50 states in terms of land area and has the 9thleast population. It is bordered by Quebec to the North, Massachusetts to the south, the Atlantic Ocean and Maine to the east and Vermont to the west. The highest peak in this region is Mt. Washington which has a cog railway reaching its summit and in the White Mountains you will find a part of the Appalachian Trail, black bears and moose. The state capital of New Hampshire is Concord and the largest city is Manchester. Snowboarding and Skiing are the main attractions of this state because of the snow capped mountains in the East Coast. The area of Hampshire is 21,217 sq. km and the major regions that comprise this state include the Great North Woods, the Merrimack Valley, the Sea Coast, the Lakes Region, Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region and the Monadnock region.
