The first Sancti Petri was a little fish fishing town situated on a spit of land over the stream San Fernando and the southern tip of the Cadiz Peninsular. On the opposite side it is encompassed by swamps and sand bars, Sancti Petri is close to the town of Chiclana de la Frontera.After the old town was relinquished in the seventies the land was taken care of by the Military. Today it is gradually being redeveloped as a relaxation and water sports region. The old high down the centre of the land is totally abandoned but one can guess its former importance by the lines of tall mature palm trees.
