EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ALGAR
One of the many white towns in the territory of Cádiz, Algar looks towards the north-eastern end of the broad Guadalacacin reservoir, from where its inhabitants and guests can appreciate stupendous nightfalls over the water. Lying about 20 kilometers from Arcos de la Frontera, it is flanked by two of the most vital natural parks in the area: Alcornocales and Grazalema.Algar lives basically from its farming and cows, calfskin and wood items, and provincial tourism. There is also a cheese factory making fresh and cured goat's cheese. Local dishes are typically those cooked with game, such as venison, partridge, pheasant and rabbit.
