Adra is situated in the west part of the region of Almeria, 50km far from the capital city of Almeria, in an area known as 'El Poniente'. Like most of the Costa del Almeria, Adra appreciates a mellow atmosphere in the winter and high temperatures, around 38 degrees, amid the mid-year. The countryside and beaches encompassing Adra are of particular natural beauty; found only south of Sierra Nevada en Baja Alpujarra (low Alpujarra) the area boasts great ecological value with an abundance of flora and fauna.
