Pinoso is a municipality in the province of Alicante. It covers a total geographical area of 126.9 sq.km. Pinoso is located in the mountainous range and is about 56 kilometres away from Alicante. The name Pinoso is derived from the wide range of pine trees that grow on the mountains of the town. High quality grape vines are cultivated to extract the wine. The famous ones are white, rose and Fondillon dessert wines. Spanish and Valencian are the official languages of the town.
