Also called as Alcoi in Spanish language, Alcoy is a metropolis and town in the Alicante province in Spain. The renowned river named Serpes passes through the regional boundary of Alcoi. It is worth noting that the city is located at the foot of the Serra Mariola and the Font Roja natural park. There are numbers of bridges in the city. It is owing to presence of rivers including Molinar, Serpis and Barxell around the city. The chief economic activities in the city include industries related to the paper, metal, food and textile. Also there are manufacturing units of matches. The city has established itself as an important commercial, financial and cultural centre in the region.
