Gelderland is a Dutch province. Located in Netherlands, it is positioned in the central eastern portion of the nation. The district is spread over an area of 5,000sq.km. It is the largest district in the country. Arnhem is the capital city of the district. The largest cities are Nijmegen and Apeldoorn. The province is divided into four geographical areas. The province is best known for its museums, monuments and other historical attractions. It is one among the most visited tourist spots in the country. Also there are countless forests and natural reserve parks in Gelderland. The district has been named after the German city Geldern.
