EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LES MAYONS
Les Mayons is a tiny but pleasant village in the south-eastern France. It is a community in the Var subdivision of the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur district. It is situated in the Maures forest and is safeguarded by the revered Grandfather Chestnut Tree. This tree was planted in the Middle Ages. It lies in the center of the Massif des Maures and and nature reserves of the Maures plain. The village is situated close to the St Tropez and Le Luc. It is expanded over an area of 28.86sq.km. The village is considered to be siliceous Provence that has abundance of cork oaks, Chestnut trees and pine trees. Climbing up any of the hills in the village, you can have a wonderful view from the Mediterranean Sea to the Alps. The village is supposed to be created by “bousquetiers“. They were the people working in the forest around. The village is surrounded by chestnut trees and cork oaks.
