Gonfaron is a town in the VAR region of the Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur region of the south-eastern France. It spans across a total area 40.42 sq.km. It is surrounded by the Massif des Maures Mountains. Gonfaron is popular for its folklore of the Flying Donkey. The town is also known as “Village of turtles” as it has breeding habitats for species of tortoises. The Hermann Tortoise is the most famous breed. A chapel is built on a hilltop and is dedicated to Saint Quinis. The people here talk and speak French.
