Vasai–Virar is a city and tehsil in Maharashtra state in western India, including the most populated some portion of Palghar district.According to the 2011 statistics, it is the fifth biggest city in Maharashtra.It is situated in Palghar locale, 30 km north of Mumbai. The city is situated on the north bank of Vasai Creek, part of the estuary of the Ulhas River. Vasai–Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVMC) covers the tehsil.
