Moradabad is a city, commissioner, and a metropolitan enterprise in Moradabad area, Uttar Pradesh. It was set up in 1625A.D. By Rustam Khan and is named after ruler Murad Baksh, the child of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Moradabad is arranged on the banks of the Ramganga waterway, at a separation of 167 km from the national capital, New Delhi and 344 km north-west of the state capital Lucknow. The city is known as Pital Nagri, for its popular metal crafted works industry.
