The previous capital of the Indian state of Orissa, Cuttack is nicknamed as 'The Millennium City' and 'Silver City' of India. The name Cuttack actually implies a Fort and alludes to the old fortress of Barabati, around which, the town of Cuttack is arranged. The best time to visit Cuttack is amid the winters (October to January) as the summers can be mercilessly hot and muggy. The city is the most bright amid the celebrations of Diwali and Dussehra and is developing as a new industrial hub.
