The stunning town of Sorbas, Almeria, is located in the southwestern part of the Levante Almeriense region. Sorbas is on a small plateau that overlooks the Rio Aguas. The local economy is mostly mining, especially with the Placo Saint-Gobain gypsum quarries being one of the largest in Europe. Sorbas is also agriculturally inclined, with vast fields of dry crops, almond trees, and olive groves for cultivation. The historical and cultural heritage consists of Casa Consistorial, Ermita de San Roque, Iglesia Parroquial de Santa María, Museo de la Lana, and Horno Árabe. Sorbas is famously known as the "Cuenca Chica" because of the beautiful homes standing tall along the Afa ravine.
